Collect

  • One SST

Also Acceptable:
  • One Lavender (EDTA)
  • One Red Top

Submit

  • 2 mL (Min:1.5 mL) Serum . Submit Frozen. Submit in a Standard Transport Tube.

Also Acceptable:
  • 2 mL (Min:1.5 mL) Plasma . Submit Frozen. Submit in a Standard Transport Tube.

Special Handling

  • Protect from Light
  • Separate aliquot required for each frozen test ordered
  • Separate from cells ASAP
  • Draw specimen following an overnight (12-hour) fast. Patient should not consume alcohol for one day prior to blood draw.
    Separate and freeze, protected from light within one hour of collection.

  • Grossly Hemolyzed Samples
