Collect

  • One Royal Blue (EDTA)

Submit

  • 7 mL (Min:0.5 mL) Whole blood . Submit Ambient.

Special Handling

  • Patient Prep: Diet, medication, and nutritional supplements may introduce interfering substances. Patients should be encouraged to
    discontinue nutritional supplements, vitamins, minerals, and non-essential over-the-counter medications (upon the advice of their
    physician).
    If sample is drawn and stored in the appropriate container the trace element values do not change with time.

Rejection Criteria

  • Clotted Specimen
  • Heparin Anticoagulant
  • Specimen submitted frozen
  • Specimens collected in tubes other than Royal Blue (EDTA). Specimens transported in containers other than a Royal Blue (EDTA) tube or Trace Element-Free Transport Tube.
